i made it

just a quick note to report i am back in nihon, safe but sad.
the magnitude of this tragedy is almost unfathomable, especially when submersed in the grief and suffering that close proximity, geographically and emotionally, brings. i received so many messages of concern from friends, family and unlikely people while i was away. i thank you all for checking on me. i truly felt cared about and it warmed me to the soul.
on a more superficial note...i am sad to have traded the warm, salty breeze for frozen breath billowing out in unheated classrooms. i am in the process of sorting my thoughts about this most amazing adventure and will soon commit them to the blog. thanks for your thoughts.
